The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that its victory at the Osun governorship rerun is a solid attestation of the people’s support for the change agenda of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC change administration.

The party said this in a statement issued by Yekini Nabena, its national publicity secretary, on Friday, September 28, in Abuja, while congratulating its candidate at the poll, Gboyega Oyetola, The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

“The Osun governorship election victory is another morale boosting victory in the lead up to the 2019 general elections and solid attestation of the people’s support for the change agenda of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC Change administration.

“We assure the Osun electorate that the party will continue to work in their interest through responsive and people-centred governance,” he said, adding that the election was truly a tough contest and a hard-fought win,” Nabena said.

The APC spokesperson hailed Osun electorate for bravely defending their votes, during the poll this, he said, was in spite of the spirited attempts by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to rig and disrupt the election.

He particularly appreciated Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state who headed the party’s 63-member campaign committee for the Osun governorship election, adding that members of the committee were dedicated and selfless.

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to declare, Senator Ademola Adeleke, its candidate in the Osun state governorship election the winner of the poll.

The party made the demand after emerging from an emergency meeting where it deliberated on the Thursday, September 27, Osun rerun election.

Vanguard reports that the national chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus, described the exercise as a mockery of the electoral process, warning that the outcome of the poll was an indication that the future of Nigerian democracy is bleak and the nation sliding into crisis.
